Sweet Sixteen!

Hi there ladies....
I'm in a reflective mood as I write this. My card today is for one of my oldest friend's daughter who as you can see will be 16 next month. The last time we met up, my friend and I were telling her that we met when I was just 17 and she was 19. Our boyfriends were friends and we met at an 18th birthday party.
Where does the time go?.....

I have been challenge spotting and am hoping this card will qualify for :
1.Die cut Dreams Challenge...Use Ribbon/Trims.
2.One Stop Craft challenge...Use Die Cuts.
3.3 Clovers Challenge...Have a number on your card.

The paper is from a DCWV stack and the colours matched perfectly with these shoes and pamper stickers. Perfect for a 16 year old!!
Thanks for stopping by...please leave me a comment so I can return the favour...Bye...

Penny Black Saturday Challenge...

Afternoon to you all on this lovely warm, sunny day!
I have been out and about today buying card and a few other bits and bobs that I saw on sale in my local craft shop. See D's stamp sets reduced to £1.99!
I have been scouring a lot of blogs to check out the challenges and jot them down.
This is one of my favourites and the challenge this week was to use the colours Chocolate, Lemon and Pink!

The background paper is from Making Memories and is a whole pad of designs in these colours. It is about 5 years old and has been well used. Little Hedgie in a bag is coloured with PM's.

Finishing touches... some flowers with pink dew drop centres.
We have another secondary school to visit tonight..so it's early showers and tea for the girls.
Thanks for dropping by...bye for now!

Just Magnolia and I ♥ promarkers Challenges...

Hi All...What a lovely day!
I do hope you have all had a great weekend. I caught up on my cardmaking and sat outside for a bit! My card today was made for two challenges.
Just Magnolia wanted us to use Pink, Grey and optional, Black!.....and
I ♥ Promarkers had a sketch to follow....so I got to work and decided to use Edwin with his bunch of roses.

The paper is DCWV and on the black and white photography Roses paper I coloured in one rose with the Blossom Pink promarker.

It's a bit tricky colouring things in black with a promarker so I used grey and some black around the edge and then tried to blend it with the pencils.

These gorgeous dew drops are from Tabby Crafts...available in lots of colours...
Off to tidy up and sort out the girls...thanks for dropping by...

Sweety Box...glammed up!

Afternoon ladies...I went into M&S last week and bought some pick'n'mix sweets and you put them in these cute brown stripe and spot cartons! How gorgeous are they?

Well ...they could be even more gorgeous....

TA DA!!!! I just had to glam it up a bit...I made up a large daisy using my DCWV flowers and popped a red button in the centre. Added some spotty ribbon for a stem and some thin lime and brown to act as leaf foliage.

I added a greeting and butterfly to the top.....

And covered the writing on the back, added a greeting and another butterfly.

I am hoping M&S will donate a few so I can decorate some more for our School Fundraising events this year. I think they would be lovely for Mother's day with sweets/fudge in!
Ww are off to visit the Girls High School now....choices for secondary school need to be made by the middle of October! Yikes...Thanks for popping by...

Flutterby Wednesday Challenge....

Good Afternoon...Not sure where today has gone! It was 10am a few mins ago?
I have been cardmaking today..trying to finish a few things that have been laying around. I had a lovely time making these glittery butterflies with pearls down them last week so I have used the rest of them up and made a couple of cards.

Flutterby Wednesday Challenge wants you to use a Butterfly or Fairy and have some 'sparkle' so these fit the bill perfectly.

I used this very colourful chipboard tag as the centrpiece just threaded through with two different ribbons.

Added the flowers and butterflies. Very simple but I love the bright colours!

It's another very sunny day here today and it looks like the rest of the week is going to be good. I'm in school now the rest of the week and organising the parent committee doing a 'Welcome Tea on the Field' while the weather is nice on Friday afternoon. Hope you are enjoying the last drop of sunshine!!!
More cards and chat soon...Bye for now.

Just Magnolia Sketch and Play Along Monday Challenge...

Afternoon Ladies and I hope you are enjoying the weekend weather.
Saturday is a stay at home and clean up...tidy up ...watch films...make cards kind of day for me. So I have done my chores and I'm just waiting for a friend to pop in for a cuppa and a chat. Just finished my 'Just Magnolia Sketch' and I really went all out Autumn on this one...also while blog hopping found a new Challenge blog called 'Play along Monday' run by Karen Wilson and the challenge this week has been 'Leaves'

I used all my earth tone Promarkers to colour this Tilda in and did some shading with a soft grey blendable pencil.

I found this little silver Acorn charm in a button box and I bought it when I was at Art College from John Lewis in Reading. Many years ago......

Another close up....

I don't yet own a Martha Stewart punch so I used my deckle edge scissors which I haven't used for ages but really love the effect...
So I hope you like all my photos and have a nice evening...I shall be watching part two of Strictly and X Factor...Bye for now

Wild Rose Studio September Sketch....

Hi all...Over on the Wild Rose Studio Blog, Dulcie asked me to design the sketch for this months challenge. My card uses this lovely aubergine spot paper which was double sided with the stripe that I have used across the middle.
I wanted to get away from the light summery shades and start to cross over into some rich darker autumn/winter colours. So I included this as my added challenge.

I love these layered flowers with the jewel brads in the centre.

So here is the sketch for you to follow. Hope you like the look of it and feel like making a card for us to look at. Check out the blog and link in your card.

I am really enjoying being back in school with Year 3/4. Art tomorrow morning...sketching some tudor people. Thanks for popping by...bye for now.

Wild Rose Studio xmas...

Hi all...a couple of busy days making cards for friends and family. I have lots of birthdays coming up and my little one has a party every weekend for the next few weeks. Thanks to Tab spreading the word on her blog, I also did some Tilda Christmas cards and sent the photos to the editor of the new Magnolia magazine. She is going to have a very tough job deciding what to put in and the competition will be huge.
Let's just say I am not holding my breath as I know there are some lovely ladies who specialise in Tilda cards...but I was happy with the ones I did and have been practising my 'promarker then shading with pencil tecnique'.
So I expect I will be able to show those to you soon.
Dulcie at Wild Rose Studio has also asked me to do the next Sketch for the Challenge blog so keep an eye out for that and she is working on some new designs and a christmas CD.
So my card is today is this cheeky pup, Sam with present from the christmas range!
Off to check out some of your blogs...Bye for now

Baby cards...

Hi all...
Hope you are all having a good weekend cardmaking/scrapbooking etc. I am!
I was asked to make a Christening card and a new baby card last week, so I used my Patchwork Pals kit and came up with these.

Any available free cardmaking time, I am still adding to my box of christmas cards.
Although the new range of 'Yummy' Magnolia stamps will pull me off track for sure.
Have a restful Sunday afternoon...I'm off to tuck into my roast dinner now!

Hi there gang...

We have been at another kiddie party...sems to be one every weekend now. I have been blog hopping and found a great challenge blog...Flutterby Wednesday Challenge run by a lady called Danni.
As I have just done some butterfly cards I thought I would post this up.

I used some lovely glitter card and some pearls for the body. The background and Tags are all DCWV.
Doing a sleepover kid swap this evening with my friend. She is taking my little 6 year old to play with her little one and bringing over her 11 year old to stay with my 11 year old. All the kids are best friends. X Factor is on so we will be glued to that all evening. Thanks for dropping by....Bye for now.

Just Magnolia Sketch

Hi peeps...
Quick post to show you that I have made a Challenge Card...Yippee.
First one for quite a while...I had this Fall Tilda coloured in so I followed the lovely sketch using these green papers from 'The Secret Garden' Papermania set.

I tried to make the flowers look like the one on her hat so I added a little blanket stitch edge and button centres.
Off to take little one swimming now...have fun!

Glitter Butterflies....

Hello Ladies...
I found a few hours yesterday afternoon and punched out some of these lovely glitter butterflies...then I found some DCWV tags and paper that had been lurking in a forgotten box...(ooops)

The sewing machine was already out so I did some stitching around the edges and sewed on a button to the flower. The pearls make a lovely body for the butterfly.

I was back at school today. I am with year 3/4 this year which is nice as a lot of them were in the 1/2 class that I was in last year.
New Topic of the 'Tudors'...which is great as I am an expert...Thanks to Jonathan Rhys Meyers! I had to draw the Tower of London today for the Display which was also great as I used to live right next door to it!
Thanks for popping by..please leave a comment as I love to read them!...Bye for now.

Distressed Dragon....

Hi there...
What a lovely sunny day! Did a bit of housework and made a few cards!
Walked up to school and had a chat with some friends. My daughter met up with some of her mates who left last year. They all look swamped in their new Blazers and jumpers.

I got sent this super cute knight and dragon image by Nikki and decided that it needed a distressed, old look. I am not very good at this but I got the inks out and my chalks and had a go. I think I have just done enough and I didn't want to go too mad. I got the paper from ebay..I think it is Papermania....Secret garden?
Love all those green leaves! Thanks for popping by....

Bright and Breezy...

Hi there...Hope you have all had a nice weekend.
Bright and breezy in Sussex today...the girls have been outside on a bouncy castle as my neighbours little boy was one and had a party today.

Another card similar to yesterdays...just using some bright colours and patterns for a different look to normal. The paper is from a Designer 12x12 pack that I got from QVC about a year ago.

Layered up some DCWV paper flowers...home made leaves with added glitter... all held together with a jewel brad.

I have been blog hopping and checking out some free downloads...a very cute Dragon, Halloween monster and Christmas, so I am hoping to do some colouring in when the girls are in bed later tonight and show you some cards in the next few days.
Thanks for popping by...please leave a comment..Bye for now.

Flowers 'For U'

Hello everyone....
I fancied doing something different...no stamped image.
Just fancy paper, ribbon, a button and a large flower with some chipboard letters. What do you think?

I took the girls out shopping this morning and found a great bargain for my eldest who was after a pair of size 3 ankle boots. (She is going to the cinema at 5pm with some friends)...first we went to 'New Look' and she picked some up for £40...(cough...cough)
Then we went to 'Peacocks' and saw the same style boot in the sale for ...£4.
Everybody was happy!
Hope you are enjoying your saturday. Thanks for stopping by...
