Scooter Boy!

Good Evening ladies....
Just a quick catch up post. I am now on antibiotics as I have a raging tooth infection but they have kicked in now so I am kinda free from throbbing pain.
Bad news is...I am booked in for a Root canal in 2 weeks time! Aarghhhhhhh!
My card today is this cute Scooter boy which is using a stamp taken from the same set as Thursdays card.

Coloured with promarkers....

I added a rucksack and a star button to go with the greeting.

We are just getting ourselves dressed up in our 80's gear for hubbys 40th birthday disco. I'm off to take some photos so I shall load a few up for you all to have a laugh at! Have a great Saturday night!

Susie's Sassy Challenge #6

Good Afternoon Ladies...
Over at Susie's Sassy Challenge, DT member Tracy chose a great theme for you to join in with...a card for a boy with the optional extra if you like, to include an animal.
I really needed to bump up my stock of boys cards so this Woodware Clear magic stamp set was just perfect! It's called 'Playtime' and also features a boy on a scooter and on a bike. (I have some cards to show these next time).

There are lots of little added extras like different balls, stars and messages.
I coloured in with Promarkers.

I used some natural garden twine and buttons to match to add some interest. No ribbon or flowers allowed this time. Pop over to Susie's blog and check out all the other DT cards and then make your own, link it up and we can all come and visit your blog!

I am off see my dentist tomorrow morning as I have had a toothache for a few days which is especially painful when I am laying down at night and obviously when I eat. I hope he can sort out what's wrong so I can enjoy Hubby's 80's night on Saturday!
Oh, and by the way....Hubby chose the Maverick 'Top Gun' flight suit with mirror Aviator glasses!

My hubby is 40 today!

Hi ladies...
No, this isn't his birthday card...I made him a football one but it is much too boring to post up!
I went shopping with a friend while he was at work and then he went off to meet his mates at the gym while I stayed home and had a candlelight dinner waiting on the table when he got home....(well, it's only once a year)
I bought some slutty lace tights, a silver cross, a lace headband and a tartan skirt..all in the sale at River Island!
He popped into the dress hire shop and is currently choosing from a few outfits for his 80's night..
1. Prince Charming Adam Ant
2. Maverick flight suit..Top Gun
3. Officer and a Gentleman white military..(my personal favourite)
4. Freddie Mercury
5. Micheal Jackson..Thriller

Back to my card today...this was very popular a few years ago and I just found a bit of the squared paper so made one for the stock basket.

Very simple daisy punch and beads...I made them smaller last time and they made good

Pick 3 Challenge with Muffin Tilda

Good Evening ladies...
Well I guess I couldn't hide away forever...
School was open today so I had to venture out slipping and sliding up the road at 8.30am with the girls. Then there was a cuppa and a catch up with my friend Sophie until 11am. My NVQ file was staring at me when I got home so I sat in the kitchen and did a few pages of my next workpack...then it was time to get the girls again...get reminded by a teacher of a New years Resolution display that I had promised to help with and picked up 2 card orders....and so it begins again.

Over on Denise Clarks Stamping Vacation blog she asks that you to join in the 'Pick 3 Challenge'....

From her list of things to use on a card I chose...

1. Use any image with wings...Little Muffin Tilda

2. Use any colour you might see in the sky....Pale blue/Lilac

3. Start your card from a piece of patterned paper...I looked at this cute paper with little berries and leaves on it and thought of the berries on Tildas muffin then matched the colours.



Well...my Hubby is 40 tomorrow! I am off into town to meet a friend to get a few foody treats for him. We have an 80's Disco on Saturday Night so I am looking to buy legwarmers and lace tights for my 'Like a Virgin' Madonna look!

Lemon and Lime Penny Black!

Good Morning all....(I made it up before midday today)
Do not adjust your screens...Yes.... This card really is that bright!
Todays card was made with 2 Challenges in mind....Colourcreate Challenge colours of Lemon and Lime meets Penny Black Challenge Sketch..

The added extra on Colourcreate was Spring/Summer flowers so I carried on the Gingham feel with these fabric flowers layered onto lemon paper ones.

Some very bright lime green ric rac and yellow velvet ribbon along the bottom and there you go!
I punched little holes out of the scallops for this one...never tried it before but I think it looks OK.

So the snow is still with us and I think that there is more forecast for Sussex later today which could mean that school will still be closed tomorrow. I think today I will try to get the girls prepared for going back and have everything ready anyway...Uniform, P.E Kit and Lunchboxes. How boring!
I can feel a Spring clean coming on as soon as they are out of the house.

Skipping Hedgehog!

Good Afternoon....Another lazy old day in my house again..
We got up at midday and I have been on the phone to an old friend for an hour or so finding out each others news! We have known each other since we were 17!!!

Another little cute spring card to show you ...I am using up some Penny Black toppers that I made up a while ago...these cards are always popular to have. My sort of bread and butter cards. Everyone loves these little hedgehogs!
My indoor monthly market takes a break until Easter but these cards are just the right thing for the ladies there.

The beautiful backing paper is once again from The Wild Rose Studio Spring CD.
Dulcie has been in hibernation working away and all her DT are looking forward to seeing the stamps that we will be working with this spring!

I have just added a few tiny dainty pink flowers with bead centres, just to keep it light and pretty.

My stock of flowers and animals is very low and I have a Mothers day Pampering event to sell at in February so I must crack on and make some suitable cards for that.

Ooh...What Joy!!!

I have made a batch of Springtime cards while watching my girls play outside in the snow! This is my first card in about 2 weeks! Penny Black Stickeroos and some lovely paper printed off from the Wild Rose Studio Spring CD.

I am entering this card in the following Challenges...

1.One Stop Craft Challenge...'Something beginning with B'...I have chosen shades of BLUE!

2.The Corrosive Challenge...'Use 2 of your favourite things'...Butterflies and Flowers! I could go on....

3.ABC Challenge...'L is for Layering'...I love using spot and gingham paper together.

We are still a bit jet lagged and trying to get back to UK time...I'm so pleased that the school is closed as we would never have made it in for 9am any day this week...Ha Ha..earliest the girls have woken up is 10am!
So I'm looking forward to some more crafting over the weekend...I quite like being snowed in! Hope you are all keeping warm and using the time to catch up on other things!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hi all...
This is my last post for a few days as we are leaving for my sister's in about an hour. The car is jam packed with presents and bags!

Today's card is the last order that I was given...a family of snails!

A Shaggy Dog Story...

HI ALL...
Here is another card order from last week...
'Thank you so much' to Susie who bailed me out by sending me this scruffy dog die cut. I hate turning down orders but sometimes it's more trouble than it's worth but she came to my rescue....
I don't have any close ups as it was very dark outside and the flash made them look awful. I had to rush off to school so just the one photo!

I'm still reading my 'Twighlight' book and last night I read 'Midnight Sun' which is on Stephanie Meyers website. This is an unfinished draft of 'Twilight' but told from Edwards viewpoint and it is gripping! It got leaked onto the internet so she has put it on for all to read...200 pages.
I really hope she decides to finish it as it will be another excellent book.

I hope I can do some cardmaking tomorrow...only one last present drop at 3pm to do!

Little Donkeys...

Hi all...
I have been out this afternoon to a little gathering...eaten some sausage rolls and had a good old natter. The girls enjoyed spending time with their friends.
Some of the quieter roads are like ice rinks so I am glad to be back inside in the warm now and showing you one of my cards made last week.
Simple request...two donkeys kissing!

But personal orders are never that easy. The donkeys had to be drawn by hand. I coloured them with PM's and then cut them out. The sprig of mistletoe was from a free stamp set that came with a mag...years ago! Customer was very happy...phew!

This award was given to me from Denise at 'Stamping Vacation' for my simple button card which I posted up just before I went off line...so Thank you Denise for picking my card as one of your top 3 and for the lovely comments from your followers.
Last few Cd's arrived in the post today so more wrapping tonight...

HALLELUJAH!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS.....How lovely to be back with my DT card for Susie's Sassy Challenge, which was due on Thursday!
Computer is back but we are not expecting it to last too much longer and I think another new hardrive wil be installed in the New Year but until then I'm happy to be blogging and shopping and generally knowing what's going on in the Big Wide World.

So first of all, Susie's challenge is 'A touch of Gold!
I made this card using some background paper sent to me by Jane..(cupboard under the stairs)and some DCWV flowers. The centres from glitter card were the leftover cuts from a butterfly wing die.

The final flourish ...gold sequins and padded butterflies!

I'm feeling a bit more Christmassy now that school has finished and my shopping is almost done.
I was at the cinema on Friday night with my two bestest mates and out with hubby and other Sussex refs last night for a few drinks. Tonight I am sending girls to bed early and finishing the pressie wrapping!
Last bit of news...Martha Stewart doily lace edge punch has arrived from Simon says stamp Challenge...It's so gorgeous!!!

I'm still here!

Hi Ladies...
Well it has been a week since the hardrive died on our main computer.
We called our the engineer who has fixed it before and he came to pick it up but he has had lots of work on and christmas things to do so we are still waiting...and it is agony!!!
I am using a very old slow laptop.
So many apologies and I hope you bear with me.

So what have I been doing...
I have been to see 'Twilight New moon' for the second time. Just love it.
I have read the first book 3 times and have all the others under the Christmas tree.
The Christmas shopping is nearly done.
I have a few get togethers planned, drinks and nibbles and the girls are visiting friends and going to parties.

Our trip to New York looked a bit doubtful at the beginning of the week, thanks to B.A cabin crew at Heathrow but it is still on for now and we are getting things together for our departure on the 30th December!

I do hope to do a proper Christmas post with photos very soon.

Poorly computer....

Hi all....
No cards to show you today as our main computer has thrown a wobbly and hubby has taken it to the Docs. I am doing this on the laptop which isn't networked.

My good intention to craft today went out the window as I made a trip to Matalan and came out £50 poorer!
How all those £2 stocking pressies add up. Then I got a call from my friend and we ended up going for a pub lunch by Fontwell racecourse!
What a bad girl!
I am hoping to do some cards tomorrow afternoon and get some pressies wrapped.
I may be lured away to Crawley one day this week for some Christmas shopping and lunch with my sister...always a nice treat!!

Hope to be back to normal service with some cards to show asap...I have some unusual ones to show that were orders from my sales evening....snails, shaggy dogs and donkeys!!!!! Pop back soon for those. Bye for now...

A cute little mouse....

Good Afternoon ladies...
I am in a very good mood as I have finished another 2 NVQ units today and been told I don't have to go in to school next week.
So I have the whole week to Craft, on my own at home, while girls are at school!!!!!!! I am so excited!
My card today is of this cute little mouse scurrying in the snow to deliver her present...It is of course one of Dulcies designs from the Wild Rose Studio CD.


I have used some Red gingham paper and flowers cause I love them so much!

No time to look at any Challenges today...I have to be off out again in a few minutes and then pick up from school.

Winter Sparkle....

Good evening ladies...
I must just say 'Thank you' to those of you who made a comment on my last post to tell me that I had won the Challenge prize on Simon Says blog. $25 to spend! I contacted them and have put in an order for a Martha Stewart punch....You are all fab for letting me know!!!!
I feel very lucky this week as I also got £10 to spend at Bunny-Zoes store as well.
I ordered some prima flowers. Christmas has come early for me!!
