The last summer card!

Evening all...
This could be the last of the summery cards. A special order made for a neighbour in my close.

He wanted her name on it and some flowers. I found a new spot to photograph my cards...on top of a nesting box in the garden. I saw some other blogs had photos outside and thought I would give it a try. It's chucking it down at the moment so this may be short lived.
(No idea why this has posted up sideways...it happened on the last post aswell??)

I love gingham ribbon in all colours. This green is super fresh and zingy.

The butterfly stamp is from Penny Black, with added jewells for a bit of bling.
Just a couple of challenges....
Flutterby Wednesday...which as always, you must have a butterfly, angel or fairy , plus this week some 'sparkle and shimmer'.
Creative card crew...Bloomin' Marvellous...some flowers!
I'm still christmas cardmaking...a grand total of 3 so far! (Mmmm)
How many weeks do I have left?
Still super busy at school but loving it!
Thanks for stopping by....xxx

Milton's White Christmas....

Hello all...Hope you are having a nice weekend.
I have done some cardmaking in between all the washing and housework...(GRRRR)and here is my first Christmas card of 2010. Wild Rose Studios uber cute Milton delivering his pressie stash.

Milton is coloured with promarkers and glittered with Stickles.

I used lots of white embossed card and some fine white tinsel which I threaded through a message tag.

First time use also for my Martha Stewart Holiday Village punch which I bought in a half price sale in New York in January.

Lots of punched out snowflakes and christmas trees along the sides. I also found some pretty embossed ribbon to run along the bottom.

So the challenges...
Colourcreate...All White and optional extra, some Embossing.
I love Promarkers...White on White
One Stop Craft Challenge...Snowflakes in September
Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club...Furry Friends
Charisma Cardz...Anything Goes
So I hope to keep up the momemtum and colour in some more christmas images. I reckon I am going to have to go some to catch up with all of you...I know some of you have been making christmas cards all year.
I'm off to make some fairy cakes now and get some dinner on for when hubby gets home.
Thanks for dropping by...xxx

A colourful Penny Black card...

Good evening peeps....
Let's talk cardmaking Challenges first...The Penny Black Saturday challenge this week was to follow the sketch. I used one of my new cream scallop edge cards with some Stickeroo's. Cat, bunch of flowers and ladybirds. I wasn't sure whether I would get it all on but I did.

Now the colour scheme was the Pile It on challenge...Red, Yellow, Brown and Green.
Very Autumnal! The Papertake Weekly Challenge is Animal Magic and yes I am old enough to remember Jonny Morris. His voice overs had me in stitches!

Creative Belli Challenge is to use embellishments that start with a B... Buttons and Brads!

So hope you like the card....
I've had another lovely day at school. I was asked to work with a new Polish child with no English who has been very unresponsive and generally finding it hard to cope in class. Between us we managed to communicate and have a whale of a time playing games with alphabet cards, matching them up, putting them in order then to my surprise he turned them all over and initiated playing the memory game where he totally beat me 17-9. His hand gestures and facial expressions when he remembered where a pair was was priceless!
He then taught me how to count up to 20 in Polish and then he counted up to 20 in English!! How cool is that!
Little things to some but I left with a happy heart!
I'm off now to watch 'The Great British Bake off' and '71 Degrees North'...
Thanks for popping by...xxx

A Ruby wedding.....

Evening all....
Mr Blogger sure took his time this evening. not sure what photos are going to pop up on this post. I have done everyone of them at least twice.
Just wanted to share a quick order that I made for a friends parents.

She asked me for it on Wednesday...or should I say she 'grovelled' for it as it was for the weekend and she needed it by Friday afternoon.. A Ruby Wedding card....

So I didn't have much prep but she was very happy that I could do it, so that's good.
First time use for the red flowers that were £2.59 for a spray, that once I had pulled apart gave me about 120 flowers.
Just got time to check out some challenges before I have tea and then start on a new card order which is another wedding Anniversary.
More chat and cards soon....TTFN!

Pasta jar Animals....

Hello!
Another late post as I have been outside all day celebrating my neighbours little boys second birthday party. Bouncy castle & Barbeque in the communal park outside our houses.
We just had to make the most of the weather.
In my photo this evening you can see my ideas for decorating the year 3/4 pasta jar reward system. Every classroom has a sweet jar...the kind you get when you buy sweets by the 100g from old fashioned sweet shop.
The children place a pasta twist in the jar as a reward for good behaviour, attitude, piece of work etc. Previously a masking tape line indicated the level it had to be filled to for the whole class to then choose the activity on Friday afternoon.

I am going to cut a hole out of the front of the jar and position the animals mouth over the hole. I hope that they find putting the pasta twist into the animals mouth a bit more exciting than just unscrewing the top and dropping it in...

I only hope that the teachers don't fight over which animal they want! I will photograph it again in situ for you next week.
Come visit me again soon for more cards and maybe some more school creativity. A Victorian display involving a steam train is my next project....

Back to school...

Hello all...
I went back to work today. It was an INSET day at the school that I work in so no children today but lots to do... We have had new furniture and a new sink area and the walls have all been painted. It looks a bit bare and not very colourful at the moment.

I covered all the display boards ready for some lovely artwork to go up.
I have been busy this evening making some decoration for the pasta jars reward system. I am going to photograph them tomorrow so I can post them up.
Hope you can come back and visit me then....
I'm off to bed!

Summer Butterflies....

Hi there all!
Why is it now that we are going back to school and work is it nice weather again? We spent 3 days in London last week and it rained every day!
However, I was cheered up by going to see the show 'Tap Dogs'. Australian workman tap dancing stripped to the waist with water and sparks flying......mmmm....Know what I mean Ladies! My seven year old was NOT impresssed. " Mummy, I thought we were going to see some real Dogs dancing!"
I am just finishing up some card orders before I go back to work on Friday. The Summer holidays have just gone by in a blur....
I have carried on with the butterflies but just taken it up a notch as I had a special order for a First Wedding Anniversary card. So another Easel card was called for....

I used the same butterfly stamp onto some very pretty patterned paper..layered up and glittered as before but added some beads along the centre this time. I used a tiny daisy punch with the same paper and added a flower bed for the butterflies to be hovering above.

I thought that this very lovely swirly turquoise paper was great for the background and as I also had some same coloured heart paper I used that as well. I also didn't want to make it too feminine.

The advantage of using paper for the butterflies is that as the glitter dries in the sun it slightly curls the edges so it looks very effective for the wings.

And so for the challenges....
1. Flutterby Wednesday...your card must have a Butterfly, Fairy or Angel on it.
2. My Time to Craft...In the Garden.
3. Pollycraft Challenge...Add a little Nature.
4. C.R.A.F.T Challenge...Milestone Birthday OR Big celebration...(My card is for a first wedding anniversary)

I'm off now to check out the school clothes, start labelling and take up some trousers!
Gosh my life is so exciting!
Thanks for coming over to have a look! Hope you leave me a comment.
Bye......xxx

love is like a butterfly....

Hello!
Hope you are all having a good Bank Holiday Monday! Hubby has taken the eldest daughter out to do the food shop and little one is happy playing so I have snuck downstairs to the craft room, put on 'Glee Volume 3 Showstoppers' on at full blast and here I am!
I have been checking out some challenges and made some cards....

1.Penny Black Saturday Challenge...'Summer Love'...I got sent this gorgeous PB Butterfly stamp in a bag of goodies from a Craftbubble Competition. It's first time out!
2.Allsorts Challenge...Garden/Park inspiration.
3.Simon says Stamp...Their challenge this week is a technique one...'Paper Piecing'

The butterfly is stamped on various patterned papers from my scraps bag and then layered up and cut out. I added glitter and coloured sequins.
4.One Stitch at a Time Challenge...The Bubble picture below shows the Colour scheme inspiration and you can also do a girly card or a mix of both.

I've done a whole range of these so check back next time when I shall show you some more.

Just before I go I wanted to let you know that over on the Wild Rose Studio website you can see more of my cards as Dulcie has set up a designers page with lots of info and card ideas. I have received some new Christmas stamps and a paper pack so expect some WRS Christmas cards very soon.
Thanks for dropping by..TTFN...xxxxx

What a 'Charming' Challenge!

Afternoon all...Is it sunny where you are? It's a lovely day here in West Sussex.
I've been lunching around a friends house and even sold a few cards.
I've got a card for you today. This is Wild Rose Studios gorgeous 'Louis bear with heart'.

He is good for 2 lovely challenges...
I love promarkers...Charming challenge. Use a charm on your card and of course use your promarkers.
Just Cute bears Challenge...use Pink and Brown.

The heart charms are from The Works and at 6 for a pound are great value.

So...Well Done to my commentors from yesterday. Quite a few of you knew we had gone to Cadury World in Birmingham. We are a family of chocolate lovers and we certainly ate quite a bit on the way round. Did you like the photo of the gorilla playing the drums? We also enjoyed going to the Bullring in the afternoon for a spot of shopping.
My last photo today relates to one of my awards where I had to post up a photo that I love...well it was obviously going to be one of my girls but this one of my eldest daughter on New Years Eve playing snowballs in Central Park, New York, is my favourite. Lovely!!!

Hope you have a great bank holiday weekend...Thanks for popping by. I'll be back again with some more photos of some days out and some more cards!
